Course programme
The course is designed to provide training for night care support workers in a wide range of
settings. It provides the learner with the knowledge and skills required to
establish conditions suitable for sleep and support the individual in a person centred way during the night shift.
Night staff who support individuals under supervision. This training can be scheduled at 9am or 7pm.
Proposed Learner Outcomes - The worker must be able to
- Understand the importance of sleep
- Establish the conditions suitable for sleep
- Assist an individual to sleep in a person centred way
- Monitor sleep
- Know how to access information and advice about difficulties with sleep
- Know what is required in observation
