Course programme
A student who wishes to study full-time to progress to university courses having recently achieved a range of GCSE qualifications.
What qualifications or experience do I need ?GCSE grades A*-C in at least six academic subjects in one sitting, including GCSE English and Maths plus additional Science (one at Grade B).
What will I study ?AS Psychology Specification - 2180 Examining Board - AQA Unit 1 - Cognitive Psychology: Memory and Eye Witness Testimony Developmental Psychology: Attachments in Babies and Young Children Research Methods Unit 2 - Psychological Differences: Stress in Everyday Life Individual Differences: Abnormality and Treating Disorders Social Psychology: Social Influences in Everyday Life
How will I be assessed ?Assessment will be through: 2 x 1.5 hour exams in January and June.
What qualifications could I achieve ?On successful completion of this course, you will achieve AS Level certificates in each subject on your programme.
How do I join the course ?You must complete a full-time application form and make an appointment for an interview with a tutor. References will be required from your previous educational establishment.
Will I need an interview ?Yes, before you can enrol.
Any extra costs for equipment/materials ?Yes, you will be expected to purchase a set textbook to use in class and for individual study. You will be advised as to which textbook to purchase at the start of the course.
