About this course
Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance. A GCSE in both English and maths at grade 1/2 (E/F/G) or above is required.
Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19 who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.

Course programme
Year 1
The course consists of a variety of units designed to enhance personal skills and knowledge. Within this are 12 vocational units, Functional Skills, tutorials and personal and professional development. The vocational units may include: conduct at work; wellbeing and fitness for the public services; a public service group project; public service careers; improving health and fitness for entry into the uniformed public service; personal skills for the public services; practical teamwork in the public service; map reading using ordnance survey maps; planning and participating in an event; introduction to expedition skills; and working as a volunteer.
