About this course
Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance. A GCSE in both English and maths at grade 4 (C) or above is required, as well as another 2 GCSE subjects at Grade 4 (C) or above.
Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19, who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.

Course programme
Year 1
Upon successful completion of this qualification, you can progress on to the extended diploma in public services course. This is a one year programme intended to provide learners with the knowledge and practical skills required in the public service sector. The learners will study up to 12 units which cover a diverse range of material including leadership and teamwork, outdoor and adventurous activities, expedition skills, physical preparation for entry into the public services and citizenship and diversity. The units have been developed to assess personal learning and thinking skills across the qualification. This programme comprises 90 credits.
