What will you be learning?
This course is a first step to a career in the uniformed (police, fire, ambulance or armed forces) or non-uniformed public services.

You will study 10 units including 6 mandatory units: The uniformed and non-uniformed public services sector; introduction to fitness and lifestyle for working in the public services; personal effectiveness for the public services; diversity in the public services; social responsibility and the value of the citizen in the public services and introduction to health and safety in the public services. You will choose 4 optional units among (subject to change): Practical application and use of ICT; introduction to security procedures; practical team working; introduction to map work and navigation skills; incidents and the public services and introduction to dealing with the public in emergency services. You will be assessed by assignments.

What happens when you have finished?
You can progress onto the Level 2 BTEC Diploma in Uniformed Public Services if you have gained an overall merit grade for this course.
