Each student will receive an initial voice assessment. An explanation of voice production will be made, followed by analysis of how and why voices are affected by stammering and also in general, how they can be changed by making differences in production. General principles regarding voice care and its use will be introduced, some of which will involve working through exercises in order to establish them. They include for example those for relaxation, posture, breathing and phonation. Later, where appropriate, these can be adapted to help stammering more specifically. The needs of the group will however be taken into account with regard to practice given. Attention will also be directed to the use of strategies in more stressful speaking situations.
