About this course
Successful completion of the apprenticeship programme will provide the qualifications required to work in the security systems installation industry with the possibility to progress to an advanced apprenticeship programme, Level 3 QCF Diploma in Providing Electronic Security Emergency and Alarm Systems.

Course programme
Mandatory units (examples of these include):
- Minimise and respond to health and safety risks in your workplace
- Communicate effectively in the workplace
- Contribute to maintaining effective working relationships
Optional units (you will select one of the following specialisms relevant to your area of work:
- Intruder alarms - design, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of Intruder and hold-up alarm systems
- CCTV systems - commissioning technicians, maintenance technicians, surveyors and designers of closed circuit television systems (CCTV) technology
- Access control system - design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electronic aces control equipment and systems
- Fire detection and alarms - design, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and alarm systems
