History

David Atkinson has spent the last 13 years working in the education sector, primarily with adults requiring work related specialist training: three years as a university lecturer and 10 years working within the MOD, designing and delivering the training of a suite of environmental protection courses to the armed forces and civil service, both at home in the UK and overseas. During this period he spent time working in the functions of both practising environmental and health and safety management, gaining invaluable insights into the trials, tribulations and successes of working as a practitioner in these roles. He set up Quercus Training Solutions in 2011 with the desire to run his own specialist accredited and bespoke training.

Description

Quercus Training Solutions provides training based on 14 years of previous teaching and applied experience. We know that the foundation of any effective training is based on the combination of knowledge, skills and competencies brought into the learning environment by our instructors.

We offer both accredited and bespoke training packages. Either can be delivered at our comfortable and friendly training facility or in-house at a location of your choice. Adopting a flexible approach, we endeavour to fulfil your requirements.

Quercus Training Solutions offers courses in First Aid, Health & Safety and Environmental Protection.

First Aid: The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 requires employers to provide adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. These Regulations apply to all workplaces including those with less than five employees and to the self-employed. Our courses are Qualsafe registered and HSE approved. We can provide first class training to any individual or organisation to help them to meet their Health & Safety requirements. HSE approved Courses include First Aid at Work qualification, First Aid at Work Requalification, Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, Approved Yearly Annual Update and Paediatric First Aid.

Health & Safety: The law requires that you provide whatever information, instruction and training is needed to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of your employees. We can provide first class training to any individual or organisation to help them to meet their Health & Safety requirements. Courses include Manual Handling, Health and Safety Risk Assessment and any bespoke course required by a client.

Environmental Protection:
The level of environmental legislation is increasing throughout Europe and the UK. This mirrors the raised expectations placed on industry and business alike to protect the local and global environment from the primary and secondary aspects of their activities. All businesses need to understand the interaction their activities have on the environment so that they can control the associated impacts. We offer the following courses to anyone wishing to fully understand the methods required to reduce and control environmental risk in the workplace:
