Radiodiagnostics are a doctor who specializes in the use and interpretation of diagnostic imaging tools. This figure works in many work contexts, working alongside other medical specialists to identify and treat a health problem for their patients. The diagnostic and interventional radiologist is the radiology specialist who carries out interventional procedures under the guidance and control of diagnostic imaging methods (radiographs, magnetic resonances, ultrasound scans, computed tomography). The objective of diagnostic and interventional radiology is to carry out less invasive but equally effective surgical interventions compared to the corresponding surgical interventions, obtaining the same or better results and mortality. The pathologies treated by the diagnostic and interventional radiologist are many, since there are many that can be diagnosed - and treated - using the many different diagnostic imaging methods that exist. We therefore range from pathologies of bacterial or parasitic origin to those of inflammatory and neoplastic origin, passing through pathologies of the immune system. They range from vascular to bone pathologies, passing through neoplasms. The procedures most often used by the diagnostic and interventional radiologist are usually less invasive than traditional surgical procedures, although they can be more or less invasive depending on the type of intervention to be performed.
