Key Objectives This unique workshop looks at "below the line" publicity from a journalist's perspective and offers strategies with which to raise your personal and/or corporate media profile. The workshop shows you how to establish yourself as an expert in your field and as a media spokesperson for your industry by building long-term relationships with journalists and publications and how to keep them coming back for more!

· Publicity vs advertising
· How the publishing industry works and identifying opportunities for business leaders
· Identifying what you can offer the media and targeting the relevant publications and journalists
· How to approach a publication and establish yourself as an expert in your field
· How to maintain a relationship with a journalist
· Delivering successful media interviews (written, telephone and in person)
· Pitching, researching and writing columns and articles for your industry press and trade magazines
· Other opportunities: public speaking, writing a book etc.
· When to outsource your writing
· Drawing together the elements of an effective campaign to raise your media profile
