About this course
This module provides you with the skills and knowledge required to provide patient-focused care in the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) or Recovery phase of the perioperative journey. There will also be the opportunity to reflect on and analyse the care offered, and use evidence to increase your understanding of the service provision, professional issues, and teamwork in this specialty area.
hold a registered professional qualification (e.g. nursing)
have 60 credit points at level 5 or be able to demonstrate competence to work both clinically and academically at the level
a minimum of one year experience in the perioperative environment i.e. anaesthetics, theatre or recovery
the support of your manager or team leader to allow time for anaesthetic clinical experience
a suitably qualified recovery mentor.
