The Relate Institute exists as a centre of excellence for relationship studies. A source of expertise in what works for couples and families, the Relate Institute aims to make a positive contribution to society's understanding of couple and family relationships and undertake new research to inform both practice and policy.It develops and delivers training for those working in the frontline with families via its university accredited programme, Continuous Professional Development courses and workforce training packages.The Relate Institute is a faculty of Doncaster College. Its academic programme is validated by The University of Hull and over 300 students undertake this programme each year at five locations across the country.

Jenny Riddell
Jenny Riddell

Jenny Riddell is an attachment-based psychoanalytic psychotherapist registered with the Centre for Attachment-based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (CAPP). She is course leader for the Relate postgraduate diploma and MA in couple therapy and supervises and teaches on several psychotherapy programmes. Jenny also has a private practice in London.

Mark Whyte

Mark Whyte was a Lecturer in Mental Health at the University of York. He is trained in CBT and, until recently, worked as a part-time CBT therapist in his local PCT. He taught on the ‘Short-term CBT’ course at the University of York and is also heavily involved in the training of Low-intensity Therapies Workers as part of the ‘Improving Access to Psychological Therapies’ (IAPT) project.
