The programme also provides an overview of many of the tools and techniques used to ensure reliability and maintainability issues are fully considered in the design, development and testing of military equipment. It covers in detail, the policy and practice of using the reliability and maintainability case to deliver requirements. You will understand the need for clear and unambiguous reliability and maintainability requirements and specifications, effective programmes and programme management and that assurance methods will provide a body of evidence that the requirements will be, or have been met. You will also investigate future developments such as Health & Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) and prognostics that will improve reliability and maintainability data and management in service.

Course structure One course per year; 5 days duration per course.
What you will learn To gain an understanding of the reliability and system effectiveness in relation to the defence industry. You will be able to demonstrate the application of reliability, maintainability and supportability methods to existing military equipment and identify their influence on equipment availability. Knowledge gained can be applied to purchasers of new defence equipment or the designers of new defence equipment.
