This module aims to provide you with the opportunity to develop the skills you require in order to clinically understand and undertake a respiratory assessment.

  • Concepts of specialist practice in respiratory care
  • Key determinants of respiratory disease
  • Linking respiratory anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology to respiratory patient therapy assessment and treatment
  • Assessment and treatment management decisions for respiratory problems
  • Key respiratory assessment skills including interpretation of diagnostic tests and investigation
  • Professional issues relating to respiratory assessments: risk management, multi-disciplinary collaboration / communication
