Respiratory Band 3 & 4 Study Day

This multi-disciplinary study day is suitable for assistant and tech practitioners who wish to understand more about their respiratory patients. On this one day course you will look at the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system in health and link this to commonly presenting respiratory illnesses / conditions. Respiratory failures (acute and chronic) will be discussed, and you will be guided towards understanding why certain types of respiratory support systems (oxygen delivery methods / Optiflow / NIV), are required.

The study day will include topics such as:

• Anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system in health and disease
• Acute and chronic respiratory failure
• Oxygen therapy
• Overview of ventilation for respiratory failure (Types 1 & 2)
• Patient Scenarios
