What's it all about?:
You have already proved that you can do the job and have all the prerequisite skills needed, including being decisive and self-motivated. Now you, and your company, feel it's time for you to progress further by moving into management. Our course has been designed to allow you to choose your own particular pathway and teach you the additional abilities and competencies for you to feel you could take on this new challenge with confidence.

Progression:
Successful students may progress to various management courses.

Entry Requirements:
In our experience in order to be successful on this level of course you will need one of the following:
• four to five* GCSEs at grades A*-C (including English and maths)
• an intermediate GNVQ in a related subject
• a BTEC first diploma in a related subject
• an NVQ Level 2/technical certificate in a related subject
• successful completion of an apprenticeship course
• successful completion of the Gateway/Newstart course
• equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience.

Candidates will need to be employed in a supervisory/management role.

Duration: One year Course Overview
What does the course involve?:

You will need to complete a total of six units (one mandatory and five optional) to achieve the full award. There are three pathways to choose from:
• management pathway
• sales professional pathway
• visual merchandising pathway.

Mandatory unit:
• work effectively in your retail organisation.

There are a variety of optional units available. Topic areas include:
• stock management
• management and leadership
• sales
• visual merchandising
• customer service
• finance and administration.

Are there any exams?:
Assessment is via observation in the workplace and through a portfolio of evidence.
