Course Content
The NVQ involves completing 6 units which consist of 1 mandatory unit and the candidate’s choice of 5 optional units with a choice of taking a unit from level 2 or out of the other 2 pathways at level 3.
Mandatory unit
- Work effectively in your retail organisation
Example of some of the Optional units to choose from:
- Plan, monitor & adjust staffing levels and schedules
- Help to manage a retail team
- Audit stock levels and stock inventories
- Evaluate the receipt of payments from customers
- Help to monitor and maintain the security of the retail unit
- Choose merchandise to feature in visual merchandising displays
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of retail operations
- Recruit, select and keep colleagues
- Allocate and check work in your team
- Provide a personalised sales and after sales service to your retail clients
Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification
Method of Assessment
Assessment is by production of a personal portfolio of evidence demonstrating understanding and application of the NVQ 3 performance criteria.
