Course programme
What Will I Learn
The first two years follow the HND Rural Business Management. In years three and four marketing, management strategy, research skills, and economics are supplemented by a range of elective modules allowing you to focus on a rural business area of your choosing.
How Will I Learn
Your academic study is always underpinned by practical work such as field trips, case studies, business plans, study tours, industry placements and professional practice, helping to ensure that by the end of the course you have a firm grasp of your chosen industry.
Honours Projects
In the fourth year you will undertake your own research project in a subject which interests you, drawing together all that you have learnt on your course.
Topics covered are varied: recent Honours Projects have included an investigation into the economic viability of using anaerobic digestion in the equestrian industry, the potential for growth within the UK Beetroot juice market and, a feasibility study of a farm shop in an urban area.
