Course programme

The RYA National Powerboat scheme has been formed to meet the needs of those who use powerboats for leisure or work purposes.

The Level 2 syllabus aims to provide a level of training to suit all, from the casual and weekend powerboat user, to commercial skippers.

The two-day course covers all aspects of powerboating, and provides the skills and background knowledge required to be a competent powerboat driver. By qualifying with "Professional Powerboat Training", you will also receive the Coastal Endorsement to your certificate, which will cover tides, rules of the road, basic pilotage and navigational skills, and the general seamanship needed to keep you, and your crew, safe at sea, whilst enjoying a boat to the full!

Many of our customers have been boating for a few years in boats such as Sea Ray, Cranchi, Fletcher, Chapparel, Bay Liner, Maxum, Jeaneau, Benetau, Boston Whaler, Sea Pro and choose to do the course in there boat.

This course will also entitle you to apply for your International Certificate of Competence (ICC) – a legal requirement for boating abroad. Many countries outside the UK require the owners or drivers of powerboats to hold an International Certificate of Competence (ICC), which you will need if you intend to use a powerboat abroad. The RYA National Powerboat (Level 2) course is the standard course required to obtain an ICC for Power boats up to 10 metres, this is a simple process to acquire.

We aim to teach 90% of this course on the water.
