Safe Handling of Medicine is covered in three parts, each pack is self-contained and comprises of:
1. The required knowledge.
2. A set of candidate questions.
3. A set of answers to the questions for the trainer.
4. A certificate that may be issued to the candidate when the answers to the questions meet the trainer's requirements
You will be looking at several areas that need to be understood in the safe handling of medicine The three packs cover the following subject matter:
1. The Law - Legislation and Medication.
2. The Control and Administration of Medicine.
3. Medicine its action, interaction and reaction.
The packs may also be used as a training tool for update training for health and social care staff.
Whilst the packs provide all necessary knowledge, it is however essential that there is regular practical assessment of staff involved in the control and administration of medicine.
Without this regular assessment in the care environment individuals may be put at risk through bad practice.
