Safe Use of Hand and Power Tools

Objectives
The delegate will take part in a training programme which provides the knowledge and skills required to be able to undertake basic tasks in a safe manner whether using hand tools or power tools. The training will enable the person to:

1. Have a knowledge of the main legislation affecting use of work equipment

2. Use basic hand tools properly and safely

3. Carry out a safety inspection of tools

4. Maintain and care for tools

5. Identify and measure screw threads including rules, gauages and calipers

6. Understand and use power tools


Requirements
Some previous engineering knowledge would be an advanatge but is not essential.
