Sage Instant Accounts Self Study Course - with on-line exam
The course takes the format of 7 self study workbooks and a copy of the Sage Instant Accounts program which has a life of 180 days duration.
The workbooks comprise:
1. Installation and set up of the program - including navigating round the system, setting up the Sales and Purchase Accounts, Bank and Nominal Ledger Accounts.
2. Entering Opening Balances on the system and what's involved, including the timing of, whether to enter detailed or summarised balances, and consideration of the VAT position, whether Standard VAT Accounting or Cash Accounting.
3. How to enter transactions - Includes all the accounting entries, creating customer invoices and credit notes, posting customer receipts, entering purchase ledger invoices and credit notes and supplier payments, bank and petty cash transactions and finally nominal journal entries.
4. Running Monthly Routines - Recurring entries, paying in instalments, journal debits and credits, bank reconciliation, production of month-end reports including Trial Balance, Profit and Loss Account and Balance Sheet.
5. Credit Control Procedures - Aged Debtors and Aged Creditors Reports, use of the invaluable search criteria to identify problem accounts, overdue letters and bad debt write-offs.
6. VAT Return and Year End Routines - Production of periodic VAT Return, different VAT schemes, Error correction, production of graphs, and export of data to Microsoft Office.
7. Product set up and Invoicing - Creating stock records details, categories, Invoicing types, Access Rights and creating users, and FAQ's.
