Scented Spring
With Spring around the corner, this is an exciting opportunity to look at innovative ideas and designs with all the fabulous fresh flowers and foliage coming into season from the hedgerow and garden as well as deliciously scented cut flowers.
With lighter, brighter days ahead, this course will enthuse and inspire you anew.
This course will touch on historical and gardening references; flower design basics, style, techniques and contemporary interpretations. It will also include a visit to a specialist bulb garden.
Nicky Llewellyn
Since planting her first packet of seeds, as a small child, Nicky has always been fascinated by plants, flowers and colour.
Later, working in the in the Middle East in the 1970's, she had an unexpected and fantastic opportunity to develop her interest as 'plane loads of flowers from Holland were delivered to her boss and somebody had to do something with them !
Formal training and qualification followed and when Nicky moved to Somerset in 1991 she was able to realize her dream of setting up her own business and has never looked back. Nicky has built up a reputation as one of Britain's top floral designers and has provided flowers for countless weddings and events, particularly in the south-west. Her vast experience combined with creative
flair means that she is much sought-after, both as a designer for events of all sizes and as an inspiring tutor.
With new courses planned at Brympton D'Evercy, Nicky says, "I am very excited about the potential here - there is a wonderful atmosphere in the house and garden and I am sure it will be a huge amount of fun - I can hardly wait to
start !"
