As an Early Years Teacher, you will play an essential role in children's development, providing high-quality early education.Our School Direct programme is a combination of school-based training and university-based courses. This hands-on route into teaching involves schools working in partnership with an accredited teacher training institution, like ours. Together we devise a training programme that is unique to each student.The quality of teacher training at Greenwich in the areas of Early Years was rated good by Ofsted in its recent report. "From the outset, trainees are encouraged to reflect on how effective their teaching is and how it can be improved…NQTS take these skills into employment as early years teachers," the report stated.We are proud to say that our programme has resulted in great student success and high employment rates.Your trainingOur School Direct programme will teach you how to use your knowledge and skills to ensure all children have access to high standards of learning. You will gain a critical understanding of the theory and practice that underpins Early Year's pedagogy. This ranges from birth to five years of age.Your training will aim to support the holistic development of the child within a cross cultural context.Time commitmentThis is a full-time programme so you will need to be available from Monday to Friday to attend the combination of university study and work placements.Your professional developmentReflective practice is critical in your development as a high-quality teacher. During your time with us you will develop and expand your professional knowledge and expertise in the Early Years sector.Our expert lecturers will guide you to become leaders of exemplary practice, critically exploring policy and research. About this course

Applicants should have:An undergraduate degree in any subject. PLUS grade C at GCSE in English language, mathematics and science or equivalent. We will accept equivalency tests from Equivalency Testing for Career Development and A* Star Teachers.. In addition candidates must:Attend an interview with our partnership school. Pass pre-entry
