The School of Natural and Computing Sciences comprises the following departments:Chemistry - Our Staff are committed to continuing their 200-year old history of excellence in teaching and research at the University of Aberdeen. We offer a range of undergraduate degree programmes, both in mainstream Chemistry and in more specialist areas.Physics - we have a long and illustrious history, and former staff include great physicists such as James Clerk Maxwell. We are commited to continuing excellence in both research and teaching. Mathematics - we have excellent reputation for research in various branches of mathematics (mostly pure mathematics) with good opportunities for postgraduate work in those areas.Computing Science - we are a thriving centre of teaching and research, particularly in areas related to Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge-Based Information Management.
