Course Aims:
To give students the opportunity to
acquire a systematic body of scientific knowledge and develop an understanding of science, including its power and limitations.
Develop experimental and investigative abilities.
*Develop an understanding of the nature of scientific ideas and activity and the basis for scientific claims.
*Develop their understanding of the technological and environmental applications of science and of the economic, ethical and social implications of these.

Biology
Science
Physics
Progression:
GCSE Additional Science, AS/A levels or another level 3 qualification. In fact since science is a universally recognised quality subject (requiring the abilities to problem solve, collect, record and analyse data, and communicate your findings to others) it will help you to follow nearly any career, science or otherwise.

Module tests (2 bitesize per unit, 75%) - 30 minutes each.
Coursework 25%

Entry Requirement
Whilst there is no specific prior level of attainment required to undertake this course, a level of scientific, literacy and numeracy skills commensurate with having followed a programme of study at key stage 3 is expected. Students are therefore recommended to have Grade D or above at GCSE level in English and Maths, together with a prior level of scientific study. Students will require a successful interview.
Students will need to be able to attend on a regular basis and complete work in their own time outside of class hours if they are to successfully complete the coursework element of the course.
