The sculptor is the one who practices the art of sculpture, understood as giving shape to an object starting from a raw material or assembling different materials together. The sculptor can model wood, marble but also clay and any material can be worked by addition or subtraction. There are different techniques to sculpt the materials, direct and indirect, based on the one chosen. The materials can be traditional ones, therefore always used in sculpture, or modern ones, such as conceptual elements. The ceramic sculptor specifically works with this inorganic material, non-metallic and very ductile if taken in its natural state, which after culture becomes rigid and hard.
