Bradford College is pleased to offer Postgraduate Secondary Distance Learning Initial Teacher Training (DLITT) courses leading to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). These courses are offered in the shortage subjects of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Physics with Mathematics. Students will receive access to a suite of resources, delivered via an innovative online platform, to prepare you for two school based placements. During the course you will spend a minimum of 120 days based in schools. Throughout the course you will be supported by college based tutors and school based mentors. There is an option to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

Course programme

The course will develop your professional attributes, knowledge and intellectual qualities to the level required to be a successful newly qualified teacher. This will be achieved through theory and practice during your (minimum) 120 days on school placement and learning via the online material. You will also have opportunities to research your specialist area and to familiarise yourself with the changing curriculum requirements in schools and colleges.
