Course programme

Undertake school-based training in two different school settings. Learn to plan and teach Citizenship across Key Stages 3 and 4 in active, creative ways needed to motivate pupils. Gain knowledge of schools and the education system. Participate in a field trip to explore approaches to teaching outside the classroom.

This course provides a flexible framework to support your academic and professional development through a range of school-based training and university-based sessions. Throughout the course you will be encouraged to critically reflect on your progress, and academic and professional review tutorials will be used to support your development.

This course prepares you for a career as a: secondary teacher; researcher via masters level study and PhD; local authority/voluntary sector worker or researcher; non-government organisation (NGO) researcher; enrichment worker with young people; more general graduate role including retail management and the civil service.
