About this course

Course Benefits ​You will graduate in just two years, helping you to get on the career ladder more quickly.
You will have a great chance for success in your PGCE application for secondary physical education, or QTS via Schools Direct.
20 weeks of professional work placements.
The course is delivered by lecturers with years of experience teaching in schools and higher education.

Typically our entry offer for this degree course is ABB at A Level or equivalent.
Other requirements: For the old GCSE system we require grade C or above and for the new GCSE grading system we will accept grade 4 or higher in English Language, Maths and Science. This degree programme does not require qualifications in specific subjects. However experience related to the study of Sport or PE, such as Physical Education, Sport Studies, Biology, Psychology, Sociology or Sport Science is recommended.

Course Information Our degree is designe​​d to broaden your future career options. If you are strongly considering becoming a physical education teacher, this degree will help you progress to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) via a Postgraduate Certificate of Educatio (PGCE) or alternative route.   Initial teacher training in physical education is highly competitive, but this degree will give you the competitive edge as you will be able to focus on your specialist subject – physical education – whilst gaining the education experience you need for a successful application to postgraduate initial teacher training.   You will graduate in two years, giving you the opportunity to undertake initial teacher training to become a Physical Education teacher within three years.
