The securities brokerage technician is the one who manages all those operations that are the basis of a securities brokerage, the so-called SIM, securities brokerage companies. The activity of the SIMs is to operate on the financial markets (recognized by Consob) and offer professional investment services to the public, a role reserved also and only for banks and other investment companies. The Mobiliar Brokerage Companies were established in 1991 with subsequent reform by the Eurosim decree in 1996 and the arrival of definitive legislation thanks to the Consolidated Law on Finance in 1998. SIMs are defined as investment firms with authorization to perform and offer investment and differ from the banks and intermediaries listed in art. 107 of the Consolidated Law on Banks.
