The world is becoming less secure, therefore, security is a key strategic objective of any activity. This study programme is intended for the preparation of security engineering specialists, who are able to develop security technology systems. Such systems protect from both natural disasters and dangers posed by human activities: fire, explosions, buildings and structures collapse, intoxicants leakage, and even cybernetic attacks.
Security Systems Engineering specialists evaluate hazards and select the best technological solution. Also, they are able to design security systems, supervise their implementation and maintenance. This is a versatile speciality that requires physical security knowledge, such as fire and labour safety, as well as understanding of cybernetic security, as the consequences of attacks on computer networks are becoming increasingly painful.
Safety systems engineering connects objects and artificial internet, cyber-security, mobile technologies, cloud computing, and social networks.
The security systems engineer's task is to design, implement and control any system related with both physical and cybernetic security, as well as to ensure a safe environment.
In the course of studies, "Apsaugos verslo grupė", the social partner of the study programme, provides students an opportunity to undergo professional training or be employed at one of Lithuanian security industry association's enterprises: at such strategic objects as air or sea ports, powerplants, private or public companies' security departments.
