Course programme
This one day masterclass extends the metal clay artist's skill set with a technique for mounting non-fireable stones in Art Clay Silver (ACS) or Precious Metal Clay (PMC). The course normally lasts for about 6 hours and will teaches how to create a setting that is suitable for all types of non-fireable flat-backed cabochons regardless of shape or size. The technique can be used to mount other materials such as wood, plastic and glass.
In a second project, students learn how to embellish their work with a pearl setting. This technique is not limited to pearls but to all types of blind-drilled embellishments.
The cost of the course includes Art Clay Silver, findings and the use of all tools needed. Students need to supply their own choice of cabochon (or other non-fireable item) but pearls will be provided, and will also receive a bound set of workshop notes to keep.
This masterclass is suitable for those at an intermediate or advanced level in their epertise with metal clay.
