The sherardiser is the one who deals with a diffusive thermochemical treatment of zinc that derives from Sherard Osborn. It was born in the late 19th century and the process is very long and consists of gaseous sherardization and then exposure of the pieces to zinc vapors using a reducing gas to prevent oxidation of the sherardized material.
