Beginners will be given a project to follow, which will be a ring set with a single stone. You will then be able to use the skills that you have learnt to produce a piece of your own design. The skills learnt from the first project will include, using a piercing saw, filing metal, soldering , setting of cabochon stone and polishing. Further techniques you will be able to try will include, reticulation, granulation , sand casting, enamelling, and various ways to pattern and apply surface textures to metal.
