The lead singer is the one who sings the main melody of a piece of music, while the chorister is that person who sings in a choir, or accompanies the soloist with second voices or complementary voices. In this last case, the term that has come into common use in musical environments other than classical music is vocalist. The singer is a subject who, through the use of his own voice, produces a succession of sounds ordered by rhythm and pitch. The soloist is a singer who performs parts that are sung, with musical accompaniment or with only the singing of the voice, who is only on stage or in any case who sings a melodic line not in chorus with other singers. In the music industry, a solo artist is called an artist who releases records under his own name, or using a pseudonym, however without the contribution of a fixed musical group, but using potentially different musicians at each session (shift workers). The voice is the sound produced by the vibration of two muscular structures placed in the neck, called vocal cords, set in vibration by the air exhaled from the lungs; it is then tonally modulated by the resonances of the two cavities that make up the vocal canal: the pharynx and the mouth.
