About this course
Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance at your last place of work or study. A GCSEs in both English and maths at 4 (grade C) or above plus two other GCSEs, one of which must be a technology/design-based subject. You will need to have successfully completed a level 2 Site Carpentry programme.
Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19 who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications, but must have previously successfully completed a level 2 Site Carpentry programme.

Course programme
Year 1
Students on the site carpentry advanced technical diploma level 3 course will study theoretical aspects of the subject and apply them to practical tasks. Compulsory topics include: organising, planning and pricing construction work; set up and use fixed and transportable machinery; constructing cut roofing; fitting doors and windows; fixing stairs with turns; principles of maintenance and repair.
