Alex McGuire is a mathematician who, with a startling lack of originality, ended up working in the city as a quant developer. He has been developing pricing and risk management systems for derivatives of varying complexity for the past twenty years, using mostly open source tools for the past ten years. Currently he is head of risk systems at Trafigura, an oil trading company and working with Scala.
Allan Kelly has held just about every job in the software world: system admin, tester, developer, product manager and development manager. Today he provides training and coaching to teams and companies in the use of Agile and Lean techniques to develop better software with better processes. The author of “Changing Software Development: Learning to become Agile” (John Wiley & Sons, 2008) and numerous journal articles, he is currently working on a book of Business Strategy Patterns. Ben has been developing software professionally since 1997, with a career taking in finance, gaming, media and third-sector and has worked on projects as diverse as BT's initial experimental 3G deployments, the Google IPO, BBC iPlayer and virtualised IT for Crisis Open Christmas. He currently works in Deutsche Bank's automated FX trading group.
David Laribee coaches the product development team at VersionOne. He has over a dozen years experience designing and developing enterprise applications and coaching Lean/Agile teams, working with internal IT, product development, consulting, and rapid prototyping teams across a wide variety of industries. David is a frequent speaker at local and national developer events, co-founder of the ALT.NET movement and early innovator in the Lean/Kanban community. He was awarded a Microsoft Architecture MVP for 2007 and 2008 and writes about Agile and Lean methods, coaching, and software design on the CodeBetter blog network
David Vincent leads the design and implementation of the Smart Trade's Liquidity Management System. David was also CTO and co-founder of LexiFi which invented mlFI, a language and a set of tools dedicated to the design of derivative contracts. mlFi was elected Software Product of the Year by Risk Magazine in 2001. Prior this David was Research and Development director at Société Générale. David is very active in the Open Source world, being committer for several OSS projects, including to the QuickFixJ product in particular, with several other Smart Trade's engineers.

Diana co-authored Agile Retrospectives: Making Good Teams Great! and is current chair of the Agile Alliance Board of Directors.
Liz Keogh is a well-known blogger and international speaker, a core member of the BDD community and a contributor to a number of open-source projects including JBehave. Liz has pioneered the application of learning models in measuring Agile maturity and coaching progress, and most of her work now focuses on Agile and architectural organizational transformations, and the use of positive language, targets and metrics in facilitating change.
A leading authority in Open Source and Database Management System (DBMS) technologies, Ms. McGrattan has been instrumental in the ongoing success of the Ingres product line. Born in Ireland, Ms. McGrattan earned a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering from Dublin City University. Recognized for having open source development at heart, she has also served on the board of directors for the Eclipse Foundation. James Shore is a prominent figure in the Agile software development community. He has been coaching teams in Agile development since 1999 and is a recipient of the Agile Alliance's prestigious Gordon Pask Award for Agile Excellence. James consults with development teams worldwide to help them meet commitments, improve product quality and increase productivity. He is co-author of The Art Of Agile Development
Janet Gregory is the co-author, with Lisa Crispin, of Agile Testing: A Practical Guide for Agile Testers and Teams (Addison-Wesley, 2009). Based in Calgary, she specializes in helping teams build quality system, and her greatest passion is promoting agile quality processes. Over the past ten years, she has helped to introduce development agile practices into companies as tester or coach, and has successfully transitioned several traditional test teams into the agile world. Her focus is working with the business users and testers to understand their role in agile projects, and offers agile testing courses to agile teams. Janet is a frequent speaker at agile and testing software conferences in North America and Europe. She's a regular contributor to the North American agile testing community.
John Smart is principal consultant at Wakaleo Consulting, a company that provides consulting, training and mentoring services in Enterprise Java and Agile Development. Well known in the Java community for his many published articles, and as author of the Java Power Tools book, John helps organisations to optimize their Java development processes and infrastructures. In the UK, John provides his Java Power Tools training and mentoring in open source technologies, SDLC tools, and agile development processes through Skills Matter.
My name is Jurgen Appelo. I am Chief Information Officer at ISM eCompany, rated (a while ago) as the #1 fastest growing technology company in The Netherlands. As a manager, I lead a horde of 100 software developers, development managers, project managers, business consultants, quality managers, service managers and kangaroos, some of which I hired accidentally. I am primarily interested in software engineering, quality improvement and complexity theory, from a manager’s perspective. I am trying to write a book about this, and I keep track of it on my blog. I am a writer, having published a number of papers and articles in several magazines, like Dr. Dobb's, Software Quality Professional, Methods & Tools, The Software Practitioner, StickyMinds, Software Development Network, Computable and Automatisering Gids. I am also a speaker, being regularly invited to talk at seminars and conferences about agile software development, project management, process improvement, and development management. People tell me I'm quite good at doing presentations. I don't know why. I only show them pretty pictures while making fun of myself. But that seems to help.
