Course summary A range of units counting towards the HNC qualification in Social Care

Course description
We offer a choice of option units that allow you to select an area of study in which you are particularly interested and/or is related to your job role. We can provide you with a choice of units by using subject specialists based at one of the 6 Academic Partner Colleges of the UHI Millennium Institute, who will deliver the unit either on-line or via open learning materials, supported by an on-line discussion board.

The units which will be available will be:

· Understanding Dementia

· Supporting Children & Families

· Mental Health Issues in a Care Setting

· Diet & Nutrition in Relation to Health

· Understanding Spiritual Wellbeing

· Stress Management

· Understanding Loss and the Process of Grief

· Understanding & Supporting Behaviour

· Working in Partnership with Adults who have learning difficulties

Working with Problematic Substance Use

These units count for CPD purposes for SSSC registration.
