Social Media and Digital Marketing Advanced Apprenticeship

This course will assist you in developing the knowledge and skills required for working in social media and digital marketing roles. It also builds in transferable skills such as communication and team working. The effective use of digital marketing and social media has become a key aspect to successful business and many companies are identifying this need within their organisation.

What will I learn?
Course content is tailored to the nature of the business that the apprentice is employed in. The Diploma Level 3 units may include:

• Understanding Social Media


• Collaborative Technologies


• Social Networking


• Understanding Search Engines and Web Based Optimisation


• Creating Websites


• Understanding Customer Relationships in Creative Business


• Using Imaging Software


• Using Website Software


• Understanding and Creating Databases


• Understanding Digital and Social Media in Marketing


• Understanding Mobile Social Media for Business Use

As part of the Apprenticeship framework you will also study Employment Rights and Responsibilities, and Functional Skills Level 2/GCSEs in English and maths, plus ICT.

What are the entry requirements?
Successful completion of a relevant level 2 or level 3 qualification, or 5 GCSEs (grades A*-C), including English and a creative subject such as art and design.


What can I do next?
Career pathways may include progression in the areas of digital marketing, digital communications and social media. Higher education opportunities may include a Foundation or Honours Degree.

Considering an apprenticeship?
Many young people look to an apprenticeship to gain valuable skills directly in the workplace.
You can apply for both an apprenticeship, and a full-time course as your back up,
but note that you will need to do some research to find an employer willing to take you on as an apprentice
if you do not already have one.

If you are applying for an apprenticeship please use the application form above,
ensuring you complete section 4 of the form. In order to start your apprenticeship you must have an employer
ready to complete your apprenticeship with.
