Course programme

This programme provides training in the philosophy and techniques of social research. It equips students with the skills they need to undertake independent quantitative and qualitative research, while, through the dissertation, students are given the opportunity to develop practical, intellectual and critical skills in their specific areas of interest. Since many go on to undertake a PhD in Sociology, courses are designed to provide the support and training required to complete the first stages of doctoral research.

MSc 12 months full-time, 24 months part-time.
