The social technologist is a professional figure born in the field of social innovation. Starting from the need to give a coherent and useful response to the needs of society and from the awareness of all existing technology, the social technologist is positioned as that intermediate figure capable of concretely satisfying the need by exploiting the existing technology. In this way, a process of conception, planning, implementation and provision of services is initiated, attributing to the final recipient (citizens, companies, etc.) a central role in the co-creation processes, while keeping in mind the concept of sustainability, which is essential in all its dimensions. Coinciding with the great moment of crisis we are going through, a profound change in society is taking place, comparable to what occurred in its time with the Industrial Revolution.
