What's it all about?:
If you know that you want to work in the health and social care sector, but are not sure which route to follow, then this course will help you make that final choice. We will draw out all your caring skills and qualities and help you develop them ready for your career.

Progression:
This is a suitable qualification for you to progress on to a range of further study at levels 1 and 2 at the College and can be used as a stepping-stone into employment in the health and social care sector where some previous experience is necessary to gain initial employment.

Entry Requirements:
There are no specific entry requirements. However, you will be invited to attend an informal interview to assess your suitability for the course.

For this Diploma, you will look at six main areas:

• the sectors in context
• principles and values in practice
• partnership working
• communication and information sharing
• personal and professional development in the work environment
• safeguarding and protecting individuals and society .

You will have the opportunity to gain qualifications such as the certificate in health and social care, certificate in children's care, learning development, and the certificate in healthier food and special diets. You could also obtain a broad range of qualifications such as business administration, customer service, beauty therapy, hairdressing, and ICT.
