Content:
Students will acquire the essential knowledge and understanding of central aspects of sociological thought and methods, together with the application of a range of skills. The content is designed to allow the integration of sociological themes, such as, socialisation, culture and identity, social differentiation and power and stratification. Within these main themes AS Sociology students on this course will study specifically the role of education within society, the use of sociological research methods and the changes in family structure. These topics are incorporated into two units Families and Households, Education and Methods.
