Course programme
A student who wishes to study full-time to progress to university courses having recently achieved a range of GCSE qualifications.
What qualifications or experience do I need ?GCSE grades A*-C in at least six academic subjects in one sitting. You must have at least a grade B in English or another suitable subject.
What will I study ?AS Sociology specification - 7191 Examining Board - AQA. Paper 1/ 7191/1: Education with Methods in Context. Paper 2/ 7191/2: Research Methods and Families and Households. In addition Tutorial and workshop support.
How will I be assessed ?Assessment will be through examination only. You will sit two 1.5 hour exams in May 2017.
What qualifications could I achieve ?On successful completion of this course, you will achieve AS Level certificates in each subject on your programme.
How do I join the course ?You must complete a full-time application form and make an appointment for an interview with a tutor. References will be required from your previous educational establishment.
Will I need an interview ?Yes, before you can enrol.
Any extra costs for equipment/materials ?Yes, you will have to purchase a textbook for the course. This will be advised at the start of the course.
