Course programme

Spanish is the official language of 22 countries, the third most spoken in the world and the native language of around 500 million people, including 40 million in the United States. The Spanish course at Canterbury Christ Church University will offer you the opportunity to gain access to these rich and diverse regions of the world and communicate with people united by a common language. Our course focuses on the study and use of the language in context and will immerse you in the life and culture of contemporary Spain and Spanish speaking countries in Latin America. Our University attracts increasing numbers of other European students which creates a perfect atmosphere to engage in language studies and establish contacts with Spanish students. Erasmus exchange and work placements in Spain are possible and part of the curriculum. All current research points out to a nationwide need to have more graduates with languages skills, skills that easily transfer to other disciplines and help gain employment. In an increased globalised world multilingual graduates have more opportunities and mobility around the world.
