Introduction:
This course provides an introduction to Spanish, looking at the language required to make acquaintances, travel around, make bookings (hotel/campsites etc), hire vehicles, order meals/drinks, make purchases in a range of shops and in general, cope with everyday needs.
Study Mode & Location:
This 20 week part-time leisure course lasts for 2 hours per week and will be held at Bamber Bridge Learning Centre, 60 School Lane, Bamber Bridge, Preston, PR5 6QE.
Course Content:
You will learn the necessary language required to:
- make acquaintances.
- travel around.
- make bookings (hotel/campsites etc).
- hire vehicles.
- order meals and drinks.
- make purchases in a range of shops.
Whilst the study of grammar is not a priority, explanations are supplied where appropriate to help you gain a full understanding of language structure. There is a strong emphasis on correct, authentic pronunciation and support in helping you speak with a reasonable degree of fluency. Above all, the aim of the course is to persuade you to see language learning as a demanding but thoroughly enjoyable activity, which brings its own rewards in terms of increased self confidence and awareness.
Assessment:
Assessment is by continuous evaluation of your progress. This is undertaken via monitoring your responses in class oral work and your ability to use Spanish in situational dialogues.
Careers & Progression Opportunities:
This course can lead to higher level courses such as Intermediate, ABC Preliminary or Foundation Certificates in Spanish.

You can enrol on any of our ACE (Adult Continuing Education) courses by phone or in person. Simply phone or call into the Preston College Advice Centre. We accept SOLO and major credit cards (eg Access, Visa, Switch, Delta) EXCEPT American Express. Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible.
