Course Description
Study with Brown University in Segovia, Spain!
Cultural workshops will give students the opportunity to explore Spain’s rich culture and history from the Middle Ages to the present. This interdisciplinary course will introduce students to Spain’s art, cooking, geography, history, literature, music, and other cultural aspects, like the Camino de Santiago. Many of these workshops are hands-on: Students will learn to cook typical Spanish meals, like tortilla española and croquetas, read Antonio Machado’s poetry and visit his home in Segovia, and learn to write text messages in Spanish. To reinforce language instruction, the course will be conducted entirely in Spanish.
