Specialist Counsellor - a distance learning course by BSY This course progresses from fundamental counselling techniques to advanced skills and specialist theories. It equips you with a strong background knowledge and delivers the necessary knowledge to counsel a wide range of clients. You will develop an understanding of the skills utilised in counselling, the vocabulary used within the profession, excellent communication skills, how to unravel a problem, exercising empathy, improving behaviour and using motivational skills. Get the skills demanded to handle bereavement and depression respectively. Learn how to administer counselling to the grieving as well as learn about depression and it's impacts. You will learn the joint issues of anger and aggression, discussing some of the myths as well as learning the reasons behind why we get angry and how best to manage anger. Explore family therapy and learn what defines a dysfunctional family and how to identify and diagnose and best treat it.
