Specialist Plant and Machinery NVQ

Van Hee currently provides training and assessment to achieve National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ). The NVQ is based on the capability of the individual to do a job.

Competence is assessed through observation of practical work supported by oral questioning and project work against nationally recognised standards developed by industry.

NVQ’s differ from more traditional forms of qualifications in that they are not time served and there are no formal examinations involved in their achievement, therefore the more effort that is put in by the candidate, the faster they can complete the qualification and become qualified.

Structure of the qualification
The Specialist Plant and Machinery NVQ Level 2 consists of
4 Mandatory Units and 1 Optional Unit.

All units are required to achieve the qualification.

Mandatory Units
• Unit 001 Contribute to an efficient working environment.
• Unit 002 Contribute to health and safety in the workplace.
• Unit 003 Operate specialised plant and machinery to performance requirements (Lifting and transferring).
• Unit 004 Lift, transfer and position.

Optional Units
• Unit 200 Counterbalance truck.
• Unit 201 Reach truck.
• Unit 202 Side loader.
• Unit 203 Very narrow aisle truck.
• Unit 204 Pedestrian/ rider pallet stacker.
